Abstract

This paper presents some reflexions about psychological issues associated subject participation in genetic researches for breast/ovarian cancer (that use predictive testing for BRCA1 and BRCA2 genetic mutation). Some considerations are made, focusing the reactions and expectations that subjects show at the time of genetic testing devolution of results and the following decision making, based on this knowledge. Some repercussions on family and transgenerational level are also comented, as well as some associated bioethical preocupations and the role of psychologist in multidisciplinary teams.
