MOYANO DIAZ, Emilio; ENCINA, Yonatan  y  VICENTE, Daniel. Evaluación del Sistema Nacional de Certificación Ambiental de Establecimientos Educacionales (SNCAE) en Chile: operatoria e impacto. Psicol. Am. Lat. [online]. 2007, n.10, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1870-350X.

An evaluative investigation is performed on the National System of Environmental Certification for Educational Institutions (SNCAE, in Spanish) and its impact on high school students’ attitude and behavior. The design involved an experimental group, with a pre-post measurement, and a control group with a post measurement only. The sample was formed by 435 students from certified and non-certified schools. The data was collected by a questionnaire that evaluated pro-environmental attitudes and behaviors and the program implementation. Significantly better pro-environmental attitudes on the students from certified than non-certified schools was observed, although no difference on the frequency of pro-environmental behaviors was observed between these groups. A deficient efficacy level is observed in the program implementation, evidenced by a lack of information about the SNCAE among the students. In addition, there was a low student participation in the main phases that the SNCAE promotes, like participative diagnostic and implementation of environmental projects.
