Abstract

In the present paper, a group of reflections regarding with the professional orientation used by the students to be guided to professional election. The study was integrated by 180 students of eleventh grade; the inquiry was carried out using as fundamental technique, the questionnaire, which was guided to explore how the students are guided to enter the careers of superior education. The obtained results found in more that one of the orientation ways that the youths use frequently to decide the professional election is family; the friends and finally the professors, impacting in smaller proportion the mass media. The results evidence the necessity to carry out intervention actions to improve the correct participation of the family in the professional orientation, and the function of the school institution and the professor as key social agent of the process, as well as the importance of implementing the mass media that can increase the process.
