The process of normal aging, marked by decrease of behavioral plasticity, increase of vulnerability and probability of death, it take a different effect for each person, that can face it in a positive or negative way. The Gerontology studies' show distinctions between normal, pathological, and successful aging, this suggests the possibility of taking precautions to reduce many of the current limitations of the aging process and promoting the good quality of life in the old age, indicated by objective and subjective factors. As the actions and investigations on this stage of life have been indicating the need of an multidisciplinary approach to the problems of aged, Psychology can bring important contributions for the construction of research programs and interventions and for providing additional knowledge for the interested professionals' in working the subjects of the aging. The great challenge for gerontology professionals and for society is to create conditions for an accessible aging for the whole population.
