Abstract

CASTELLANOS LOPEZ, Gloria Estela. Consumo de drogas y VIH/SIDA en el contexto penitenciario de la Ciudad de México. Psicol. Am. Lat. [online]. 2008, n.14, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1870-350X.

The objective was to describe the relation between drugs consumption and HIV/Aids’s in a male prison, where main factor risk is sexual intercourse without protection whose intention is to finance his addiction. Drugs consumption obstructs HIV/Aids’s prevention because risk is associated to identities “the addict” instead of specific behaviors “not to use condom”, so, whom does not use drugs feels protected by no belonging to “risk group” although they have risk practices; ILHA (inmates who live with HIV/AIDS) have developed a despair feeling where the absence of a positive future for themselves leads them to drugs consumption as an alternative for coping his disagreeable reality and make easy that they abandon their retroviral treatment accelerating Aids’s phase appearing.

Keywords : Drugs consumption; HIV; AIDS; Prisons.
