Nowadays approximation between biological sciences and psychology are clear, and in this way neurosciences have establish as the ground to board mental disorders. The main of this research is to know the genetic contributions, to observe his relation with mental disorders and to make a review of recent findings of the effects of psychotherapy in gene expression. The influence of environment is emphasized as a condition to exhibit involved genes in complex behavior. The data show several researches that suggest that steady and stable changes produced in the person by learning or psychotherapy may generate alteration in the genetic expression. It is concluded that in this new scientific field there are, until today, reduced empirical supports that hold the evidence obtained and we highlight the need to overcome the limitations of traditional paradigms to achieve satisfactory answers.
