The present work is a research report carried out in the Universidade Federal do Amazonas, in the Medicine curse, the objective was to identify factors that have influence at stress levels like the family relationship and the student´s way of being. Through the application of a test and a constructed questionnaire based on risk and protection factors we could evaluate the student´s way of dealing with the academic life stress. Related to the family relationship, 93,8% showed had good affective bond, and 81,3% have parents worried about the future; 51,3% of the students said to be an anxious person and 71,3% demanding. The stress involves a psychological process, what defines is the individual perception about the situation. At one side we have the individual and biological behavior, these are founded in a variable cultural and social that determine the understanding of the falling ill and the individual health.
