This article reports a case study of an adolescent patient admitted to a University Hospital and development of an education booklet as a possibility for psychological intervention. The admission was loss of glycemic control for diabetes and reeducation for eating. Discusses the role of the booklet as a psychological resource in the process of awareness about diabetes and how the educational environment for the understanding of disease as well as an expression of feelings and doubts about the disease. It also examines the importance of multiprofessional work for the well-being of patients with chronic disease and family.
