Abstract

Correlational study made with Venezuelan students, male and female sex, between 9 to 12 years old, with the purpose of determining if there is a relation between the styles of upbringing parental perceived, and the social motivations. A sampling was made as a census type and getting as a result a sample of 145 students, being applied the Child Report Parental Behavior Inventory (CRPBI; Schaefer, 1965) and the scales of Social Motivations (ANI, LONI, PONI; D'Anello, 1990). Later, the correlation that already exist was established between the variables of study by the formula r of Pearson, getting as a results: that according to the level of significant of a=0.01 There is a positive and significant correlation between the dimensions of Autonomy and Love, Love, Love and Control, in the styles of upbringing perceived of the mothers and the Motivation to the achievement in the students of the sample, corroborating this way the exposition presented by David McClelland in 1953.
