Abstract

The aim of the study was the environmental awareness in a public elementary school where 96 children participated in fourth through sixth grade, the instrument had an internal reliability by Alpha Cronbach 0.893. The results showed an attitudinal and behavioral change in participants for the environment where girls showed the greatest change in the mean comparison by gender, showing high correlations at 01 and 05%, showing children to sustainable behavior understand that climate change is a problem for mankind if not involved in the prevention of the environment and care that the more water, climate change will decrease and likewise, should continue to participate in prevention and environmental protection. The behavioral change of children to get involved facilitated teachers throughout the school and parents of the participants.
