Leadership is a phenomenon inevitable in psychology and community intervention, but research on this construct is scarce. This work aims to make an approach to the state of the art through a documental and content analysis. The results show that community leadership has two levels: the leadership for community and leadership of the community. The first refers to the presence of leaders or leaders of community, while the second refers to the accumulated capital. We describe intervention strategies used for both levels, concluding that it is essential consider them as complementary actions.
