From a social constructionist approach, the objective of this study was to understand how the interpretative repertoires on the stable union of homosexuals are expressed in a social network. We analyzed the comments of participants in a group discussion of a social network, in response to news about the approval of the law that recognizes gay marriages, published on May 5, 2011. Two distinct movements were noted: the need to standardize the notion of family under the aegis of religion, heteronormative discourse and procreation, and the need to cover the different possibilities of understanding what a family unit is, which includes the realization of stable relationship between persons of the same sex. The possibility of listing the ethical and political implications of these repertoires were pointed out, repertoires that are not neutral, extending the invitation to other voices, so that the meanings are recognized in its transformative potential.
