WONG, María Teresa Rodríguez; WONG, Maitié Rodríguez  and  DOVAL, Yamila Roque. Student-teacher relationships and ICT in vocational training college. Psicol. Am. Lat. [online]. 2014, n.26, pp. 4-23. ISSN 1870-350X.

A characterization of student-teacher relationships, mediated by the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in a Cuban university is presented. Cooperative action research is used with document analysis, in-depth interviews, semi-structured individual and group interviews and participant observation. The indicators are: mutual perception, autonomy, power dynamics (symmetry, types of power, and conjunctive mutual feelings. Correspondence was evident between the mutual perception of students and teachers and its relationship to the images of teacher and student ideals, the development of student autonomy through the use of ICT and the presence of two trends in the dynamics of power, sustained by differences in symmetry between the actors involved, and the bases of power that prevail. In addition, conjunctive feelings between students and teachers were identified.

Keywords : relationships; power; communication; ICT.
