The present article aims to discuss the relationships between emotional factors and the commitment of the process of breast milk production in postpartum women by cesarean section, as well as the way in which Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques can be effective in the treatment and prevention of these phenomena. The methodology used was the bibliographical, exploratory survey based on literatures related to the subject, using the platforms Scielo, Bvs-psi and other articles related to the study in question. This work will enable the reader to understand the factors that may contribute to inhibition of breast milk production, as well as procedures that may help minimize emotional losses. In the bibliographic analysis, the importance of behavioral cognitive therapy as one of the most efficient strategies to deal with the emotional factors involved in the process of breast milk production was verified, since its efficacy is proven through empirical studies in several areas, including emotions.
