Abstract

LUCENA, Andressa da Silva; OTTATI, Fernanda  and  CUNHA, Felipe Augusto. The maternal-fetal appendix in the different quarters of gestation. Psicol. Am. Lat. [online]. 2019, n.31, pp. 13-24. ISSN 1870-350X.

The main objective of the study was to identify how maternal-fetal attachment manifests in different quarters of gestation. Suppose that the expectations, feelings, and thoughts expressed during gestation facilitate or hinder engagement in the dyad. Participants in this study were nine pregnant women, aged between 22 and 37 years old and with schooling varying from incomplete High School to Full Higher Education. The pregnant women were divided according to the gestational period, with three pregnant women in the first trimester, three in the second and three in the third. For the data collection, a Sociodemographic questionnaire and a semi-guided interview were used. The results evidenced that there is maternal-fetal attachment during the gestational process and that there was no differentiation of attachment demonstration in the different trimesters of gestation.

Keywords : Pregnancy; bond; maternity; maternal love.
