Resumen

MAYORAL, Luisa; REZRAZI, Amine  y  GANGLOFF, Bernard. We dare not say "no" to our bosses, but... would we like to?. Psicol. Am. Lat. [online]. 2020, n.34, pp. 113-119. ISSN 1870-350X.

In every society, and particularly in the work environment, alignment or submission to authority is positively valued; while, that rebellion is disapproved. This adhesion to the "norm of obedience" is translated in avoiding all kinds of behaviors that question the hierarchy of powers within a social system constituted as such. This work aims to detect the presence of this rule of obedience in the private sector. In this sense, 120 employees between 25 and 45 years old from private sector companies have been asked by telephone and under the snowball technique to respond voluntarily and in person to a 24-item questionnaire about submission to authority in two different ways: honestly and according to your ideal self. Our results indicate that individuals are aware of the need to be obedient but that, in an ideal plan, they would like to show more rebellious.

Palabras clave : submission; obedience; norm; ideal self.
