Abstract

BARROS, Amanda Souza Lopes  and  SANTOS, Claudimara Chisté. Dream Windmills: Life Projects in Aging. Psicol. Am. Lat. [online]. 2021, n.36, pp. 217-228. ISSN 1870-350X.

Aging is a process of changing and reframing in the context of elderly weaknesses and potentials. With this scenario, rethinking practices to promote health and life quality resonates. This research aim to analyze the resonances of an intervention proposal, which seek to rescue, increase or build life projects with a group of elderly women from a Reference Center for Social Assistance services in the Southern Region of Pernambuco, Brazil. The investigation was based on a qualitative perspective, through the Research-Action Methodology. In the workshops we conducted, the importance of group activities was observed, which make it possible to maintain hope, faith and spirituality in adapting the aging process, turning it as a important health promotion factor. The intervention process proved itself to be a driving force for reframing, self-recognition and motivation. In additions, we must understand that defining strategies for reorganization of life plans and projects are incentives for autonomy in aging.
