The body is the principal referent that we have from others. It is the body the means of transmission of social meanings through interpersonal relations. This body must be seen beyond the Cartesian model which separates mind and body. Perceiving the body only as a biological entity implies that the body is perceived as a pre cursive phenomenon sepárate from gender, which directs the perceptions, cognitions, and actions out of what is really a cultural body. This work tries to examine the sexual body, the transgression of gender, and of desire. I present a view of the body and gender, and the technologies that allows the transformation of the body that we have and the body which is desired. I examine the intersection of gender and normative embodiment in the bodies represented by homosexualities. Finally there is an invitation for a critica] view to the traditional perception of gender and desire as they are inserted in contemporary bodies.
