Resumen

CIRINO GERENA, Gabriel. Las pruebas en línea: una experiencia puertorriqueña. Rev. Puertorriq. Psicol. [online]. 2008, vol.19, pp. 245-255. ISSN 1946-2026.

Many testing and credentialing organizations are using the Internet to administer tests and credentialing and certification exams. Most of them have contracted the same international firms to provide the testing infrastructure. These firms bilí separately for assembling each test and for each test administration, which increases considerably the cost of testing. For this reason we decided to explore the possibility of developing our own testing infrastructure and turn to local talent for that purpose. Luckily, a team of computer programmers and industrial psychologists were able to complete the project. This article discusses some of the advantages and disadvantages of this type of testing, reports on the system we were able to develop, and presents some of the challenges we have faced.

Palabras clave : Internet testing; Certification and credentialing; Examination boards.
