MARTINEZ, Brenda I. Vera; ROSELLO, Jeannette  y  TORO-ALFONSO, José. Autoestima y juventud puertorriqueña: Eficacia de un modelo de intervención para mejorar la autoestima y disminuir los síntomas de depresión. Rev. Puertorriq. Psicol. [online]. 2010, vol.21, pp. 35-61. ISSN 1946-2026.

This study had as its main objective the efficacy evaluation of a workshop implemented for META Program for strengthening selfesteem with adolescents and young adults; to explore its efficacy reducing depression symptoms and its relationship with self-esteem. The design was experimental with group comparison. The total sample consisted of 70 participants with ages between 16 and 29 years. We found significant differences between self-esteem and depression symptoms before and after their participation. Relation was strong and inverse. There were no significant differences between groups probably related to the reduced number of the sample and lack of randomization, among others.

Palabras clave : self-esteem; depression in adolescents; group intervention.
