This text intends to analyse the possibilities of sport psychologist's performance since the emerging of the new concept of "Social Psychology of Sport". It proposes a discussion about the questions of social responsability of the Sport Psychology professional and suggests new possibilities of action in perspective of social projects connected with education through sport. It presents the criticism that has fallen upon the psychologist on service to the elites, in contrast with the sport psychologist more social, attentive to qualitative methodologies. If the first is convinced of the object of his discipline, the second, is sensible to social, historical, anthropological and political aspects of the context. Of the teorical and methodological pressuposings shown in this practices faced with the aloud income, it will appear a return to psychologist questions, enriched with references from social sciences, in an effort to better specify the view of the sport psychologist with performance in social projects.
