Abstract

Society exert pressure on how should be the body of individuals. Self perception of weight can be related to the distortion of body image. As for men, the excessive worrying about the body can lead to Eating Disorders, and a new compotamental disturb named Bigorexia. The aim of this study was to review current literature on Bigorexia, characterized by the excessive practice of physical exercise, leading to an obsessive preoccupation on body and the adoption of non conventional food practices. Individuals with the disease describe themselves as weak and smalll, when in reality they are more muscular than average.
