The proposal of this work was investigate the presence, or not, of subjective well being and what is the locus of control in brazilian athlets of judo, who would go to Olimpic Games in Athenas. The global avaliation of subjetive well being includes considerations about happiness, pleasurable emotions, life satisfaction, less unplesurable emotions. The locus of control intend to explain the perception of people about the control of situations in what they live. The control could be perceived as being consequence of his person´s acts (internal locus) or outside this person´s control (external locus). The results achieved with the aplication of a questionary about happiness and the Multidimensional Locus of Control Scale showed the presence of subjective well being and internal locus of control in the professional athlets of judo.
