This research addressed facets of psyquic developments relating to pain as a triggering factor of the obstacle temporary removal of sports practice, during the period of physiotherapy treatment in high-performance athletes. Seven interviews were conducted in two different groups, and through a phenomenological perspective, focused on how the athletes realize their own condition. In the results, categories accounted for common points that emerged from the reports. The adoption of a generic speech in the third person, common to one of the groups, revealing a hindrance to consider and question the contingency of pain and its threat to the target set the sporting context of high-performance, concurrently the presence of self-discourse of strength, generalization and standardization of experience, these are elements seen as a potential outbreak of professional performance in the psychology of sport leading to the questioning about the relation between objectivity and subjective positioning in interventional procedure.
