Abstract

The aim of this study is to relate the competitive stress manifested by handball players of high level and the injuries suffered by them. The study sample consisted of 80 professional handball player who competed in those moments in ASOBAL, with a mean age of 24.83 years (+ 5.21). For the evaluation of competitive stress scales were used and Influence Stress Management Performance Evaluation Questionnaire of psychological characteristics related to Sports Performance (CPRD) Gimeno, Buceta and Perez-Llantada (1999). For the evaluation of sports injuries used a self-report questionnaire. The results indicate that those players most affected by the impact of performance evaluation suffer a greater number of muscle injuries.
