Into a historical approach, this article seeks to show the journey through which SNI (Special Needs Individuals) had passed on the most diverse stages, its specification and the existent juridical apparatus. It intends to point out to the need of the inclusion to this segment next to contemporary society, breaking barriers and prejudices.
