Abstract

CASTRO, Nelimar Ribeiro de; RUEDA, Fabián Javier Marín  and  SISTO, Fermino Fernandes. Validity Evidence for the Alternating Attention Test TEALT. Psicol. pesq. [online]. 2010, vol.4, n.1, pp. 40-49. ISSN 1982-1247.

The objective of this study was to search for evidences of validity for the Test of Alternating Attention (TEALT) by the relation with the Test of Divided Attention (AD) and Sustained Attention (AS). 133 college students of a private institution of the state of Sergipe, both sexes, and with mean of 24,83 years, took part of the research. The instruments were administered collectively and in the classroom. The results indicated positive correlations, mostly low and moderate TEALT and between AD and AS. This demonstrated that an increase in performance in TEALT corresponded to an increase in performance on other tests. Thus, the validity evidence for the TEALT by correlation with the AD and AS was observed.

Keywords : Alternating attention; validity; psychological testing; psychometrics.
