Abstract

PASSOS, Carolina Sertã; VALLE-RIBEIRO, Natália do  and  BARBOSA, Altemir José Gonçalves. Talent identification: an exploratory analysis of the three-ring conception and revolving door identification model. Psicol. pesq. [online]. 2014, vol.8, n.2, pp. 170-178. ISSN 1982-1247.  http://dx.doi.org/10.5327/Z1982-1247201400020006.

In order to analyze the Three Ring Conception and part of the Revolving Door Identification Model of talent, 74 elementary school students from the fifth grade responded to the Torrance Test of Creative Thinking, to the Scale for Evaluation of Motivation to Learn for Elementary School Students and to the Battery of Reasoning Tests. Positive correlations were obtained between motivation and reasoning and creativity and intrinsic motivation, but the limited number of them and the magnitudes show some independence between variables. With a local percentile greater than or equal to 92 as a cutoff on at least 1 subtest, overnomination occurred in the 3 measures - reasoning (36%); motivation (15%); creativity (74%). Limitations and implications of the study are considered.

Keywords : gifted; creativity; involvement; reasoning; psychometrics.
