Abstract

MAGALHAES, José Hugo Gonçalves. Vygotsky and Moscovici on the Subject Constitution. Psicol. pesq. [online]. 2014, vol.8, n.2, pp. 241-251. ISSN 1982-1247.  http://dx.doi.org/10.5327/Z1982-1247201400020013.

The article draws a comparison between the perspectives of Vygotsky and Moscovici on the subject's constitution, considering that their theories about cognition argue tacitly and explicitly a socio-cognitive thesis on the matter. In this way, the first section presents a brief summary about the socio-historical psychology of Vygotsky, followed by an interpretation of his vision of the subject; in the second section, the same procedure is carried out, this time with Moscovici through the theory of social representations; and finally, it is highlighted in what exact sense the socio-cognitive spectrum of these theories is established as a fundamental building block in the construction of their respective notions of subject.

Keywords : Theory of social representations; cognition; Vygotsky.
