Abstract

The article presents the construction and evaluation content validity evidences of Anxiety Cognitive Scale (ECOGA), from a narrative review of cognitive anxiety beliefs, there were identified 17 cognitive descriptors of clinical anxiety, classified into four categories. Such descriptors based the construction of the items, which was evaluated in terms of understanding and adequacy by eight experienced judges, and by nine individuals with low education to evaluate their level of understanding about items. After the evaluation of the judges and participants, one item has been deleted and eleven modified. The ECOGA pilot version has 73 items and, after the evidence of content validity, the factor structure still needs to be known for continuing the search for other validity evidences.
