BERRI, Bruna; CASTRO, Amanda  e  CAMARGO, Brigido Vizeu. Rejuvenation practices: a study of the social representations with people between the ages of 40 and 60. Psicol. pesq. [online]. 2016, vol.10, n.2, pp. 4-4. ISSN 1982-1247.  http://dx.doi.org/10.24879/201600100020056.

Rejuvenation is presented as a resource to keep a social place related to the capacity of being alive. The Social Representation theory allows understanding how people build and share daily knowledges to elaborate and interpret issues about rejuvenation. This research aims to verify the relations between social representations and rejuvenation practices. Descriptive and exploratory, it involved 20 adults equally distributed by gender. The textual material obtained by in-depth interviews underwent descendant hierarchical classifications. Results have shown that women think rejuvenation as invasive and minimally invasive practices, and men associated it to physical activities and reading. Physical activities and mental exercises, as aging retardants, organize the understanding of rejuvenation as well as the practices for all participants.

Palavras-chave : social representations; practices; aging; rejuvenation.
