Abstract

MAIA, Maria de Fatima de Matos et al. Empirical verification of factorial consistency of subjective well-being questionnaire munsh in brazilian teenagers. Psicol. pesq. [online]. 2016, vol.10, n.2, pp. 76-84. ISSN 1982-1247.  http://dx.doi.org/10.24879/201600100020062.

This study sought to factorial validation of the Memorial University of Newfoundland Scale of Happiness for Brazilian adolescents. Participated in 1,864 adolescents aged 12 to 20 years, residents in northern of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The research was approved by the Ethics Committee. A confirmatory factor analysis in order to evaluate the structure of subjective well-being scale for youth was held in the Brazilian context. Psychometric indicators proved near to those required by the literature on structural modeling, ensuring confirmation of the assessed construct. The results presented by the proposed factorial model showed an excellent structural strength to the scales, which can be noted that the four-factor structure was proven. Considering the evidence of factorial validity and internal consistency of the scale, its use justified in the Brazilian context for research on the antecedent and consequent variables of psychological dynamics on the subjective well-being in the areas of education, labor, social assistance, physical education and others.
