Abstract

MARMORA, Cláudia Helena Cerqueira  and  SARCHIS, Anna Paula Campos. Neural correlates between memory and action involved in the pain experience. Psicol. pesq. [online]. 2020, vol.14, n.3, pp. 269-282. ISSN 1982-1247.  http://dx.doi.org/10.34019/1982-1247.2020.v14.30643.

Pain is a complex and multidimensional phenomenon, considered a stressor that can alter emotional states and cognitive functions, including memory and action. This essay aims to elucidate issues for the creation of intervention strategies in the treatment of different contexts. To this end, studies were presented that show neural correlates involved in the patient's experience based on the mind-brain relationship. The independence and / or integration of brain systems and emotional states involved in cognitive functioning was discussed in different clinical and experimental studies.

Keywords : Pain; Memory; Action; Cognition; Neurosciences.
