This study aims to analyze aspects related to poverty and homeless people in studies published between 2008 and 2019. It is a systematic literature review, whose research for articles was carried out in January 2020, in the databases of Scielo and BIREME, considering studies published in English, Portuguese and Spanish, by using "homeless" as descriptor. 42 studies were analyzed. The results point to a relationship between poverty and homeless people, who experience several deprivations, violence, prejudice and stigma. The results point to discussions about the following dimensions: work/income, education, housing, health, psychological dimension and human rights. Finally, we highlight the need to investigate and understand how people experience poverty.
