This study aimed to investigate the relationship between mental health and significant social networks of health professionals which are frontline workers in the COVID-19 scenario. Through documentary analysis of reports available for media access, reflections are articulated in the categories: a) Mental health and psychological suffering; b) Social isolation and distancing from significant social networks and c) Care strategies. Despite the recommendation regarding social distancing, it is known that social ties are protective in situations of stress and fear. Therefore, strategies to strengthen networks, the opening of listening spaces and the maintenance of bonds stand out.
