FINGER, Sheila Skitnevsky. Immigration and symptom in the clinical psychotherapy with families. Contextos Clínic [online]. 2008, vol.1, n.2, pp. 72-78. ISSN 1983-3482.
This article analyzes the clinical work with families from two stand-points: the Lacanian perspective about clinical work with children and families, and the issue of immigration. Using a clinical working example of immigrants in the United States, the article illustrates the influence of the role of parents on the psychological constitution and development of children, as well as the influence of social and cultural aspects on the formation of individual and familial symptoms and experiences
