Hundreds of millions of people in the world population suffer from the onset of mental disorders. Investigate the socio-demographic and clinical characteristics of patients seen by psychology services is reported in the literature as a measure that allows the recognition of claims, creating a bet er service on these locals. However, there are few studies that describe these characteristics of patients in the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This study aimed to describe the prevalence of psychological disorders and the socio-demographic and clinical characteristics of patients atended in CBT. It was analyzed data from 92 files from patients enrolled in a training clinic at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). The profile found included women, students, single, with complete high school and presenting Mood Disorder. This profile was similar to that reported in the literature in studies of this kind of service. Identifying this profile is fundamental for the development of specific therapeutic strategies for this form of therapy.
