Abstract

AMORIM, Fázia Beatriz Torres; ANDRADE, Andréa Batista de  and  BRANCO, Paulo Coelho Castelo. Psychological duty as strategy of extended clinic in basic health care. Contextos Clínic [online]. 2015, vol.8, n.2, pp. 141-152. ISSN 1983-3482.  http://dx.doi.org/10.4013/ctc.2015.82.03.

The psychological duty fits in a mental health promotion perspective based on the emergency reception of the person in crisis, underpinning the extended clinic and basic health care ideals. We aim at problematizing the psychological duty as a possible strategy of extended clinic, presenting the possibilities and challenges of its implementation in basic care. This is a theoretical-critical essay organized in three axes: (i) the advent of psychological duty and the SUS context; (ii) the psychological duty as an extended clinic strategy; (iii) the implementation of psychological duty in basic care. We conclude that psychological duty expands the psychological service in basic care and facilities its access to community, increases the resolution of cases and contributes to the wholeness of attention, collaborating to the materialization of SUS' doctrinal principles.

Keywords : extended clinic; psychological duty; mental health.
