The aim of this study is to analyze the predictive capacity of internalized homophobia, religiosity, and sociodemographic variables on gay marital satisfaction, in order to provide useful discussions on the subject, taking the possibility of reducing the stigma that is present in the social imaginary, about homosexual relations. This is a quantitative study with 94 people, males and females in a homosexual relationship. The variables analyzed were marital relationship and internalized homophobia, using the GRIMS scale and the Internalized Homophobia scale, in addition, data on sexuality and religion were collected. There was a significant correlation between internalized homophobia and marital satisfaction of homosexual couples. The study discusses the hypothesis that internalized homophobia decreases marital quality of homosexual couples, because the rejection of the group of belonging does not allow them to live their relationship to the fullest.
