PIETROWSKI, Daniela Lopes; CARDOSO, Nicolas de Oliveira  y  BERNARDI, Claudia Canestrine do Nascimento. There is an increase in the prevalence of Burnout Syndrome in Brazilian teachers today. In addition to the damage that this condition causes teachers, there is a growing concern related to the impact of this syndrome on the quality of education of educational institutions. Contributing to combat this problem, the present study aimed to investigate coping strategies used by teachers in the face of Burnout Syndrome. The method adopted for the elaboration of this work was the integrative review of the literature. The search for empirical articles was conducted in the virtual databases Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), and Periódicos Eletrônicos em Psicologia (Pepsic). Four studies were found after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Based on these studies, it was observed the predominance of three coping strategies used by teachers: (1) coping strategies focused on the problem; (2) coping strategies focused on emotion; and (3) coping strategies of avoidance. It was concluded that the first ones are positive and may help in the prevention and reduction of the symptoms of burnout syndrome, the second ones can be positive or negative, and the third ones are negative insofar, as they contribute to the development and maintenance of burnout symptoms.
