The objective of the reported experience was to follow the adaptation process of people with disabilities (PWD) in their first year of work, searching to identify difficulties, easy aspects, and strategies of adaptation built. Pichón-Rivière's operative group presuppositions were used as reference for the conduction of the works. It can be seen that PWD begin their relations in a more cautious manner, considering possible indications of disqualification and prejudice. However, insofar as they feel welcomed by the group and by the institution, they express their difficulties, ask for help, and compromise in their relationships.
