Abstract

ESPIRITO, Ádhila Carlos Oliveira de  and  CASTRO, Paulo Francisco de. Assessment of the psychological typology observed in a sample of students from a psychology undergraduate program. Gerais, Rev. Interinst. Psicol. [online]. 2012, vol.5, n.1, pp. 86-107. ISSN 1983-8220.

This article aimed at describing the typological characteristics found in Psychology students, according to the Jungian literature. The subjects were 200 undergraduate students from the first to the last term, with 18 years of age or more, from Guarulhos University (Ung). For the development of the survey the Typological Assessment Questionnaire (QUATI) was used, by means of which it was possible to identify the psychological profile of the Psychology student in different levels of the undergraduate program. The analysis of the profiles which were found demonstrated the existence of different psychological profiles, which suggest, due to the proximity of their primary and secondary functions, the psychological maturing of the Psychology student. Therefore, the Psychology student may develop some traces of personality during the program, which seems to be the consequence of the requirements established by the Psychology undergraduate program, such as the maturing and the development of their emotional and intellectual skills and capabilities.
