The objective of this study was to outline the production of academic papers in Portuguese on Psychology of Emergencies. A systematic review was initially conducted on the subject contemplating the LILACS , MEDLINE , SciELO and PsycINFO data bases with the descriptor "psychology of emergency", with 1 article being found. The survey then included a Google academic search and found 22 papers in Portuguese. A comprehensive review of the work and research lines on the subject were then carried out. The results indicate that while production on the subject is incipient in Portuguese, it remains an interesting field in the academy as 15 of the 22 works found are theses or post graduation papers. The results confirmed the need for further studies in the field of psychology of emergency in Brazil.
