LEMOS, Igor Lins; SILVA, Romildo Fellipe Nascimento  e  SILVA, Maria Clara Miguel Descendente de Melo. Inadequate internet use at workplace: a systematic review. Gerais, Rev. Interinst. Psicol. [online]. 2016, vol.9, n.1, pp. 125-140. ISSN 1983-8220.

The objective of this manuscript was to perform a systematic literature review regarding the inadequate use of the internet at the workplace (cyberslacking). The databases ScieELO, BVS, Lilacs, Science Direct On Line and PubMed were used, without a minimum date, and included articles published up until July 2013. A total of 179 articles were found, 26 of which were utilized. It was verified that cyberslacking is more common amongst young males. Factors which could lead to this behavior are: feeling of injustice in the organization, impaired sleep and lack of control of online time. Most companies adopt the practice to monitor these activities. The positive bias of cyberslacking is the recovery of the physical energy for the development of other activities. Following, it is considered that this is a problem far from being solved, since, besides the complexity of this behavior, few effective strategies have been applied until this moment.
