Abstract

VASCONCELOS, Dalila Castelliano de et al. Adaptation and evidence of validity and precision of the questionnaire of attitudes towards violence in schools. Gerais, Rev. Interinst. Psicol. [online]. 2017, vol.10, n.1, pp. 13-24. ISSN 1983-8220.

This study aimed to verify the psychometric parameters of the CAHV, presenting evidences of validity and precision. Participated 317 individuals, with ages between 12 and 17 (M = 13.61; SD = 1.21), majority female (54.1%), from particular schools (51%) of João Pessoa - PB. They answered the CAHV and sociodemographic questions. An exploratory ordinal factor analysis Unweighted Least Squares (ULS) suggested a one-dimensional solution, with factorial loads varying from .39 to .76, explaining 37.11% of the total variance. In addition, the scale had a satisfactory internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha = .93; McDonald’s Omega = .93), and were also observed differences in the scores according to the sex and school category of the participants. It is concluded that the CAHV presents acceptable psychometric parameters, and can be used for research in the context it is being validated.
