CUNHA, Juliana Gomes da; GARCIA, Agnaldo; SILVA, Thays Hage da  and  PINHO, Renata Coelho de. New arrangements: examining the interpersonal relationships of homeless people. Gerais, Rev. Interinst. Psicol. [online]. 2017, vol.10, n.1, pp. 95-108. ISSN 1983-8220.

Homelessness is frequently related to the fragility, disruption or absence of bonds once configured. This article aimed to analyze the interpersonal relationships, current or broken, of homeless people. Episodic interviews were conducted with twelve homeless individuals of the metropolitan region of Vitoria, Espírito Santo, requesting the participants to recall and report specific situations. In the analysis, given the recurrence of content, data was divided into love relationships, friendship and family relationships. Participants reported weakened or broken bonds after going to the streets, and there were also abundant reports about new relationship configurations, relevant to their life rearrangement process.

Keywords : interpersonal relationships; social ties; homeless.
