This research aimed to map the services of School Psychology in the Education Department of the municipalities in the South and Southwest regions of Goiás, seeking to understand the conceptions that support the practices carried out by professionals of Psychology in Education and to identify relevant elements to recent discussions in the area, based on interinstitutional research carried out in seven Brazilian states. We have contacted 50 municipalities of the investigated regions, and in 12 of them we found 17 psychologists women and one psychologist male working in the Municipal Education Departments. Sixth psychologists responded to the proposed questionnaire, among which we selected for the interview, two who presented evidence of working on a critical perspective. The analysis of all the questionnaires and the performance of the interviewees showed that there are still many challenges for the consolidation of the work, from an institutional perspective, but much has been done so Psychology can contribute with actions that promote the effective development of all the members in school context.
