This article aims to reflect on teacher education provided from a teaching internship experience at an Institution of Higher Education in the state of Paraíba. It is assumed that this discipline is a necessary and important practice for the training of future university professors in graduate studies. The pertinent legislation was approached in the text, as well as the aspects on the construction of university teaching practice, the theoretical bases that support the discipline of Adolescence and Youth Psychology, the activities carried out in the teaching internship, and how this experience was perceived by the two trainees. Therefore, it was possible to evaluate this practice as an enriching moment for training as teachers: the experience of teaching, guiding, and evaluating students strengthened their training, promoting a professional growth and maturity that was only possible due to the experience of being in a classroom, facing the daily challenges that are presented to the teachers.
