Abstract

ARAUJO, Suzana Almeida et al. Work conditions and practices of CRAS teams: policies, rights, and scope of services. Gerais, Rev. Interinst. Psicol. [online]. 2022, vol.15, n.1, pp. 1-25. ISSN 1983-8220.  http://dx.doi.org/10.36298/gerais202215e17331.

This research integrates a broader, interinstitutional investigation covering different cities in Brazil, whose objective is to understand the collective experience from the discourse of the social assistance teams that work in Reference Centers for Social Assistance (CRAS) and its relationship with the emancipation processes of the subjects. Here we present the results of the investigation comprising eight CRAS units from six municipalities located in the agreste region of northern Bahia and southern Sergipe, developed by means of conversation circles with the teams that integrate the equipment. We focus on the activities developed, group works, the difficulties, and the potentialities that the teams face in the context of CRAS. The results point to the lack of institutional structure and to difficulties in the area, at the same time it identifies advances in their actions, indicating the Unified Social Assistance System (SUAS) as an essential social policy in the present time.

Keywords : CRAS; social assistance; basic social protection.
