The article covers subjective and psychosocial aspects related to the professional trajectories of ex-banking workers who have decided adhere to the voluntary dismissal programme of a government financial institution. Assumptions and procedures ofthe research, such as some reports of the interviews (cashiers, supervisors and managers), besides the analysis related to the adherence processes have been made available. The analysis indicates a relation between subjectivity serving as instrument (fear and threat management) and the (incited) decisions to adhere to the voluntary dismissal programme. Those decisions have generated complex psychosocial losses and several and contradictory family and subjective rearrangements
